Go Green In Your Office

Go Green in your Office Go Green in your Office

With COP27 taking place at the moment, a lot of us are thinking about ways we can reduce our carbon footprint and join in the fight against climate change. But have you thought about how your business can contribute? Making a few small changes and encouraging greener practices around the office could not only help the environment, but you could be saving yourself money too! Here are our tips for making your workplace a little more eco-friendly.

Have a paper cut

...and not the type that hurts! Think about whether or not you really need to print out your documents - you'll find a lot of the time it's actually not necessary! Many companies are moving to cloud-based document storage and managed print solutions to reduce their paper waste. If you do need a hard copy of something, try printing double-sided and using recycled paper. You can find recycled alternatives for most paper products, including notebooks, sticky notes and refill pads.

Do a split!

It's back to basics with this one, but it's one of the easiest and most important things you can do to help the environment - make sure to separate your waste. Ensure your workplace has general waste, recycling and food waste bins, and put up signs with clear instructions so everyone knows what belongs where. Placing these above bins will encourage people to separate their waste appropriately - which saves energy and reduces pollution.

Keep it clean!

Cleaning products can be very harmful to the enviroment - harsh chemicals in products can contaminate water and contribute to air pollution. Obviously putting an end to cleaning is not an option, but why not try out an eco-friendly cleaning product, like this floor cleaner which uses the power of probiotic micro-organisms in place of nasty chemicals?

Start a Green Team

This idea is a great one because it gets more people involved and makes everyone a bit more conscious of the energy-saving, waste-reducing effort - plus, it doesn't cost anything! Put together a team of employees who can take some time to look out for wasteful activities in the work place and recommend some more environmentally friendly habits. This is great for identifying low-hanging fruit like lights and monitors being left on or waste not being separated. More importantly, the ideas are more likely to stick because employees are the ones who came up with them!

The climate crisis is a huge concern for all of us, so let's all do what we can to make the fight a little easier!
